Data from the General Administration of Customs show that the total import volume of manganese ore in April 2025 was 2.9712 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 53.86% and a year-on-year increase of 38.57%. In April, Australian mines were 63,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 109.4%; South Africa mines were 1.4564 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 35.51%; Gabon mines were 698,700 tons, a month-on-month increase of 185.57%; Ghana mines were 554,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 87.47%; Brazil mines were 1,300 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 95.96%, and Myanmar mines were 59,800 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 14.56%. The total import volume of manganese ore from January to April 2025 was approximately 8.8323 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 610,700 tons (imports from January to April 2024 were approximately 9.443 million tons), a year-on-year decrease of 6.47%.05-20 17:14

On May 19, South32 issued a statement about its Groote Eylandt Mining Company Pte Ltd (GEMCO) resuming export sales of Australia manganese ore. According to a press release, GEMCO has resumed export sales of Australia manganese ore. The first shipment is being loaded and is expected to leave GEMCO's newly rebuilt terminal in the next few days. Export sales are expected to increase in the June 2025 quarter but return to normal in fiscal year 2026.05-20 17:13
