According to the Canadian Ministry of Finance, Canada will impose a 50% tariff on U.S. copper wire and charcoal to replace fish and seafood previously removed from the counter-list, so that the annual import volume covered by the counter-tariff matches the U.S. tariff scale of approximately US$20 billion. The U.S. 50% tariff on Canada came into effect on August 23, and Canada's counter-formulation will be implemented on September 8. Canada's Ministry of Finance said the adjustment was made after consulting the fishery industry. The new products also include glass containers, printed pictures and gypsum bricks.09:39

Data released by the Canadian Grain Commission showed that in the week ending August 23, Canada's rapeseed exports increased by 1.64% from the previous week to 118,100 tons, compared with 116,200 tons in the previous week. From August 1, 2025 to August 23, 2026, Canada's rapeseed exports were 493,500 tons, an increase of 13.58% from 434,500 tons in the same period of the previous year. As of August 23, Canada's commercial rapeseed stocks were 604,600 tons.09:16
