The CITIC Securities Research Report stated that export demand continues to grow and existing supply is close to full capacity. The viscose filament industry is expected to enter a stage of tight supply and demand and upward price hubs. The growth of traditional clothing consumption in India has driven the export volume of China's viscose filament. In 2025, the industry's export volume will increase by 18.2% year-on-year to 114,000 tons, and will further increase by 30.9% year-on-year in the first half of 2026; At the same time, the operating rate of the domestic industry in 2025 has risen to 89.8%, and semi-continuous spinning production capacity may face pressure from policy elimination, environmental protection transformation and relocation.

【MTBE】

On August 13, MTBE offshore market closing prices fluctuated: The Asian MTBE market closing price decreased by $4.09/ton compared to the previous trading day, with FOB Singapore settling at $1029.52-1031.52/ton. The European MTBE market closing price increased by $10/ton compared to the previous trading day, with FOB ARA settling at $1343.99-1344.49/ton. The US MTBE market closing price increased by $3.47/ton compared to the previous trading day, with FOB Gulf settling at $1023.78-1024.13/ton (289.07-289.17 cents/gallon).

【Methanol】

On August 14, the Shandong Alliance methanol offer price was raised by 30 yuan/ton. Terminal execution price is 2,650 yuan/ton, spot payment, ex-works. Trader execution price is 2,660 yuan/ton. The 250,000 tons/year methanol plant is operating normally.

On August 14, Shandong Mingquan raised its methanol offer price by 50 CNY/ton to 2670 CNY/ton, with spot payment and ex-works delivery. The 600,000-ton/year coal-to-methanol unit is operating normally.
