According to U.S. Department of Agriculture projections, driven by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Renewable Volume Obligations (RVOs) for 2026 and 2027, the use of soybean oil for biomass-based diesel production is expected to surge to 17.8 billion pounds, an increase of 3.6 billion pounds from the 2025/26 marketing year, making it the biggest beneficiary of this round of demand expansion.09:49

As maintenance units resume production, market supply has increased. Downstream demand is average, with purchases made only to meet essential needs. Market trading sentiment is sluggish, and industry sentiment is poor. The soda ash market in North China is experiencing weak consolidation.09:45

On June 10, soda ash quotations in Central China: the mainstream market for light soda ash was around 1,030-1,150 yuan/ton, a decrease of 20-50 yuan/ton; the mainstream market for dense soda ash was around 1,150-1,250 yuan/ton, a decrease of 50 yuan/ton, with actual transactions mainly based on negotiations.
Downstream soda ash demand is characterized mainly by a wait-and-see attitude, with low market purchasing enthusiasm. As maintenance units resume production on the supply side, inventories have increased and market sentiment is poor. The soda ash market in Central China is operating on a weak note.09:43
