Mainstream spot prices for xylene in the East China market ranged from 7,350 to 7,400 yuan/ton, an increase of 50 yuan/ton from the previous trading session. Prices for toluene and xylene rose yesterday; crude oil closed higher, the aromatics night session was relatively strong, and offers from Shandong local refineries increased over the weekend, supporting the market amid tight domestic supply. However, downstream demand is rigid, traders are cautious about chasing the rally, spot trading is somewhat lackluster, and room for further upside is limited.
