Compared with January 8, 2023 (the reference price of dimethyl carbonate was 4,733 RMB/ton), the price increased by 167 RMB/ton, an increase of 3.52%.

This week, the downstream demand for dimethyl carbonate in China increased, the atmosphere of stock preparation warmed up before the festival, the intra-field trading was good, the enthusiasm of downstream procurement improved, the overall market transaction improved, and the demand boost supported the rise of the market price of dimethyl carbonate. This week, some factories raised the price of dimethyl carbonate by 100-200 RMB/ton. As of January 12, the domestic market price of dimethyl carbonate was around 4,800-5,000 RMB/ton.

Market outlook

As the Spring Festival approaches, domestic logistics will be shut down, and the downstream stock of domestic dimethyl carbonate will also end in succession. The possibility of a sharp rise in the market price of dimethyl carbonate before the festival is limited.
