SunSirs: In November 2022, Malaysia's Natural Rubber Production Continued to Decline

According to the Malaysian Bureau of Statistics on January 13, the export volume of natural rubber in November 2022 decreased by 16.1% year-on-year to 51104 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 23%. 54.3% of them are exported to China, followed by the United States 3.6%, Germany 2.8%, Türkiye 2.2% and Brazil 1.8%.

Malaysia's imports of natural rubber in November were 99198 tons, down 1.3% year-on-year and up 25.1% month-on-month. Standard rubber, concentrated latex and natural rubber of other shapes are the main import categories, and the main import sources are Thailand, C ô te d'Ivoire, the Philippines, Myanmar, etc.

In November, the total monitored production of natural rubber was 28048 tons, down 8% year-on-year and 11.8% month-on-month. Among them, the output of small plantations accounted for 87.2%, and that of state-owned plantations accounted for 12.8%.

Malaysia's natural rubber inventory in November was 195353 tons, down 1.4% month-on-month and 27.5% year-on-year. 90.4% of the inventory is concentrated in the hands of rubber processors, 9.5% in the downstream terminal inventory, and 0.1% in the main inventory of large plantations.

In November, the total domestic consumption of natural rubber decreased 34.1% year-on-year to 28537 tons, with a month-on-month increase of 0.6%. The latex glove industry is still the main force of the consumption of natural rubber in Malaysia, accounting for 70% of the consumption, 6.7% of the consumption of tires and rubber tubes, 10.8% of the consumption of rubber lines, and 12.5% of the consumption of other industries.
