SunSirs: Corn Prices Tended to Be Weaker (March 13-17)
March 22 2023 09:48:06SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, domestic corn prices continued to be weak this week. At the beginning of the week, the average price of third-class yellow corn was 2,795.71 RMB/ton, while the average price at the weekend was 2,791.43 RMB/ton, with a slight decrease of 0.15% during the week.

Analysis review

In mid March, the market volume of corn in the production area remained relatively high, and the arrival volume of corn at the port continued to increase. After the company's inventory was effectively replenished, the purchase price of corn was slightly reduced. In addition, imported corn continued to arrive at the port, and the overall supply of domestic corn market was relatively loose, and the overall domestic corn price was stable and weaker.

This week, the domestic egg price was strongwe, rising 1.0% during the week, while the domestic pig price was volatile and weak, falling 1.17% during the week. The continued volatility and weaker operation of pig prices had led to a continued downturn in the domestic pig breeding industry, which was still in a loss situation as a whole. The enthusiasm of farmers to supplement livestock has continued to decline, and the overall recovery space for corn feed demand in the future is limited.

Market outlook

The corn product analysts of SunSirs believe that in the short term, under the pressure of phased loose supply, the domestic corn market price will continue to be stable and weaker under pressure.
