The average price of industrial grade sodium metabisulfite at the beginning of the week was 2,416.67 yuan/ton, and the average price at the weekend was 2,383.33 yuan/ton, a decrease of 1.38% during the week.

Analysis review

In April, affected by the falling price of upstream raw materials, some enterprises slightly lowered the ex factory price of sodium metabisulfite, driving the price of domestic sodium metabisulfite market to fall slightly. This week, the price range of domestic industrial sodium metabisulfite market was 2,300-2,500 yuan/ton. The overall supply and demand of sodium metabisulfite market was stable, and enterprises mainly completed old customer orders.

As of April 7, the price of domestic soda ash fell 1.45% in the month, the price of sulfur fell 1.87%, the price of upstream raw materials fell back after rising, and the lower cost will suppress the market price of sodium metabisulfite in the future.

Market outlook

Analysts from SunSirs believe that under the suppress of lowered costs, it is expected that the domestic market price of sodium metabisulfite will still have some room to fall in the short term.
