According to Chinese customs data, China's soybean imports in March 2023 were 6.85 million tons, a decrease of 2.7% from 7.04 million tons in February and an increase of 7.9% from the same period last year.
The import volume of soybeans from China in the first quarter was 23 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.5%, reaching the highest level in history during the same period. Analysts and traders say that although the import volume in March was lower than February and showed an unusual decline, the soybean import volume in April and May will increase again, reaching over 9 million tons per month.
