SunSirs: This Week, the DME Market Was Stable and Rose (April 17-21)
April 24 2023 10:33:50SunSirs(John)

Price trend

This week (4.17-4.21), the overall domestic DME market remained stable and experienced slight fluctuations, with a slight increase in the Henan region. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the average price of DME in the Henan market was 4,075 RMB/ton on April 17, and 4,190 RMB/ton on April 21, an increase of 0.37%, and a decrease of 2.85% compared to the same period last year.

Analysis review

This week, the DME market in Henan Province experienced a tentative increase, and the pressure on supply and demand in the market had eased. Within the week, the 200,000 ton DME plant in Kaixiang, Henan Province resumed operation, and the supply of goods was released, with no significant impact on the market. Downstream restocking for the holiday hasbegun, and the inventory pressure of manufacturers had slightly eased. The market for related products had shifted from rising to falling, which had constrained the market for DME.

The raw material methanol market fluctuated and rose, gradually increasing support for the cost of DME.

Market outlook

Overall, in the future, DME will face the May Day holiday, and downstream replenishment may boost the market. However, the purchase of related products will also restrain the market mentality. Under the long short game, it is expected that the DME market will rise slightly in the short term, resulting in a long-term stalemate and consolidation operation.
