Price trend
According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of April 21, the average price of LNG in China was 4,694 RMB/ton, which was an increase of 11.60% compared to the average price of 4,206 RMB/ton on April 17.
Analysis review
This week, domestic LNG prices continued to rise. The largest LNG plant in China, Hubei Huanggang Kunlun Energy LNG Plant, started sales, and there was pressure on surrounding shipments. Due to local pipeline maintenance, the demand for downstream replenishment increased, and the price of LNG started to rise. On the afternoon of April 19th, the raw gas auction price rose. In the end, PetroChina's supply of raw gas to the Northwest LNG Plant increased to 2.55-2.72 RMB/square meter, resulting in an increase in production costs for the plant. Driven by costs, LNG plants continued to raise prices and the trend continued to rise.
Market outlook
LNG analysts from SunSirs believe that the domestic LNG market was improving recently, and downstream stocking demand was constantly increasing. The price of raw gas had increased, cost side support was positive, and there was a strong bullish atmosphere in the industry. It is expected that domestic LNG prices will continue to rise in the short term.
