On May 8th, the benchmark price of white sugar in Shangye Society was 6828.00 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.74% compared to the beginning of this month (6778.00 RMB/ton).
On the domestic side, Yunnan has accumulated 46 sugar mills, an increase of 32 compared to the same period last year. Based on current information, it is expected that all remaining sugar mills will be squeezed in early May, with import costs remaining at a high level, and the price difference between domestic and international prices being reversed.
It is expected that the import volume in the second quarter will be at a low level. Currently, the inventory of sugar factories is low, and the sugar making group has a strong willingness to raise prices.
