BAGE stated that as of the week ending July 19, Argentina's wheat planting progress for 2023/24 was 92.2%, 6% higher than a week ago, but still 4.6% behind the same period last year.
The wheat planting area in Argentina in 2023/24 was 6 million hectares, a decrease of 2% compared to 2022/23.
In its supply and demand report on July 12th, the US Department of Agriculture estimated Argentina's wheat production for 2023/24 to be 17.5 million tons, lower than the 19.5 million tons predicted in June and higher than the 12.55 million tons sharply reduced due to drought in 2022/23.
