SunSirs: Tight Supply, China Egg Prices is Rising
July 26 2023 09:25:25SunSirs(Selena)

According to the monitoring of the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the egg price was 8.40 RMB/kg at the beginning of last week, and 8.57 RMB/kg at the end of last week. The price increased by 2.02%, and the price decreased by 12.64% compared to the same period last year.

Affected by the high temperature weather in July, the egg production rate and egg weight of laying hens decreased, and the supply of large-sized eggs was tight. In addition, market demand slightly improved, and dealer procurement increased, resulting in an overall acceleration of market sales. At the end of June 23, the total number of laying hens in China was approximately 1.178 billion, a decrease of 0.08% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 0.25% compared to the same period last year. The number of laying hens decreased by 3.52% compared to the average in the past five years.

At present, inventory levels in various links are low, and businesses are generally bullish on the future market. It is expected that the procurement volume of downstream links in August may increase. In addition, the downstream reserve inventory before the start of school in mid to late October may accelerate the market circulation speed, and the overall market demand will increase, which is favorable for egg prices.

The supply of eggs in the market is tight, and it is expected that in the short term, egg prices may fluctuate strongly.
