Price trend

According to data from SunSirs, seamless tubes saw a slight increase this week. As of the weekend, the prices of 20# and 108 * 4.5 seamless pipes were quoted at 4,872.5 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.52% compared to the beginning of the week and a year-on-year decrease of 7.98%.

Analysis review

This week, the national seamless tube factory inventory was decreased by 12,900 tons from last week to 755,800 tons. The operating rate of seamless tube factories nationwide was 57.8%, a decrease of 0.2% compared to last week.

At the end of July, the overseas Federal Reserve's interest rate hike cycle was almost at an end, and the disturbance factors were weakened. National and local policies were introduced one after another, and market confidence gradually rebounded. Weifang Panjin seamless tube maintenance for two production lines, with ten days of maintenance, is expected to affect the production of 50,000 tons. Baotou Steel's 460 unit also had maintenance plans, with an estimated 20 days of maintenance, affecting the production of 30,000 tons. The profit of the factory declined, the supply level of the tube factory had slightly decreased month on month, the orders of the tube factory had slightly improved, and the factory inventory had maintained a small reduction. Factors such as weather and the Universiade had affected short-term demand, and seamless tubes still faced the problem of supply and demand mismatch.
