SunSirs: Consumption Accelerating, China Egg Prices is Rising
August 18 2023 14:29:16SunSirs(Selena)

According to the monitoring of the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the egg price was 10.63 RMB/kg at the beginning of this week, and 10.71 RMB/kg at the end of this week. The price has increased by 0.75%, and the price has increased by 9.85% compared to the same period last year.

In August, the summer tourism consumption is high, and the catering tourism consumption is also high. In addition, it is estimated that the food factory will still have a large demand for stock before the Mid Autumn Festival. At the end of August, there will be a demand for centralized stock replenishment before school starts. Therefore, it is expected that the demand for eggs in August will still be good. Severe rainfall has occurred in some of the main egg production and sales areas, affecting the production and transportation of laying hens, resulting in short-term tight egg supply in some areas. The national stock of laying hens has maintained an increasing trend, which can fully guarantee the market supply of eggs. Overall, egg prices are still mainly stable.

The high temperature weather continues to affect the laying ability of laying hens, and the number of laying hens in the country continues to increase. The supply of eggs in the market is steadily increasing. Egg consumption has fully entered the peak season. The boost from the Mid Autumn Festival and National Day, as well as the opening of schools, has fully unleashed the potential for egg consumption. The supply and demand of eggs remain tight, and egg prices will fluctuate and rise.

As the weather cools down and the laying ability of laying hens recovers, the supply of eggs in the market will slightly increase, and it is expected that egg prices will mainly fluctuate in the short term.
