SunSirs: Supported by Supply and Demand, the Market for N-Butanol Showed a Broad Upward Trend (August 21-25)
August 28 2023 09:26:44SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to monitoring data from SunSirs, as of August 25, 2023, the reference price of n-butanol in the Shandong region of China was 8,966 RMB/ton. Compared with August 21 (reference price of n-butanol was 8,166 RMB/ton), the price increased by 800 RMB/ton, an increase of 9.80%.

Analysis review

At the end of August (8.21-8.25), the domestic butanol market in Shandong region experienced a broad upward trend. Recently, some butanol plants in China were shut down for maintenance, and the supply of butanol on site was reduced. The spot circulation on site was tight, and factory supply was not under pressure. The downstream demand side also performed well. Downstream stocking enthusiasm was high, and the trading atmosphere was relatively active. With the support of both supply and demand, the focus of the butanol market continued to move towards the high-end. As of August 25th, the market price of n-butanol in the domestic Shandong region was around 8,900-9,100 RMB/ton, with a 5-day increase of 8.98%.

Market outlook

As of August 25th, the overall inventory of n-butanol in the field was still relatively low, and the pressure on manufacturers to ship was relatively low. The supply and demand side transmission was smooth. The n-butanol data analyst of SunSirs predicts that in the short term, the domestic n-butanol market in Shandong region will be mainly stable with small fluctuations, and the specific trend still needs to pay more attention to the specific changes in the supply and demand side.
