Analysis review
Downstream unsaturated resin market transactions were light this week, resin manufacturers shipping was general and the replenishment of maleic anhydride was limited. Recently, the market for raw material n-butane significantly declined, with limited cost support, and the market for maleic anhydride had followed suit. As of the 31st, the solid maleic anhydride in Shandong region was about 6,900 RMB/ton, in Jiangsu region was about 6,900 RMB/ton, and in South China region was about 7,500 RMB/ton.
On the upstream side, the overall performance of the pure benzene market was weaker, and the external market of pure benzene was declining, dragging down the mentality of the pure benzene market; Driven by the pure benzene market, the spot market for hydrogenated benzene performed weakly this week. Recently, the market for n-butane had significantly declined, and as of August 31st, the price in Shandong was around 4,800 RMB/ton.
Market outlook
SunSirs’ maleic anhydride product analysts believe that as of August 31, the price of raw material n-butane had stopped falling and rebounded, reducing the bearish sentiment on the market. The main factory maleic anhydride stopped falling, and downstream procurement was on-demand and they were mainly on the sidelines. It is expected that the maleic anhydride market may experience a slight increase in the near future.
