Analysis review
The propylene oxide market fluctuated upward slightly in September. At the beginning of the month, there was strong cost support, with some equipment maintenance and supply shrinking. Most of the factories had no inventory pressure and supported the prices, downstream was wait-and-see and mainly followed up just on demand. In middle September, there was a partial increase in supply side and shipments were average, and some factories' prices fell under pressure. As the prices of raw materials such as propylene and liquid chlorine continued to rise, cost support increased, and downstream was wait-and-see and followed up with increased purchases. Factory shipments were better, and prices rose. In both propylene and liquid chlorine, the market atmosphere once again showed weakness. In late September, the supply side devices were mainly stable, while downstream suppliers followed up averagely after centralized procurement, resulting in a strong wait-and-see atmosphere and market consolidation.
Upstream propylene, according to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the reference price for propylene on September 26th was 7,285.75 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.43% compared to September 1st (7,113.25 RMB/ton).
Market outlook
The propylene oxide analyst from SunSirs believes that as September 27th, the market atmosphere was average and there was a strong wait-and-see atmosphere. It is expected that the propylene oxide market will continue to be light and stable in the short term, and more attention needs to be paid to market news guidance.
