SunSirs: Energy, MTBE Market Price Fell Slightly Last Week (February 10-14)
February 17 2020 09:48:05SunSirs(Selena)

1  Price Trend

According to the data of SunSirs, the price of MTBE at the end of last week was 5,050 RMB/ ton, down 0.66% from the previous week's price.

2  Market Analysis

Products: both the international oil price and the gasoline market price had fallen to a low level. The demand of the gasoline market had greatly decreased. MTBE manufacturers had resumed work one after another. Market trading was bleak. Last week, the MTBE market price continued to decline.

Industry chain: the international crude oil was running at a low level last week, with a large range of fluctuations. At present, it is estimated that the price adjustment of domestic refined oil on February 18 will be significantly reduced by 450 RMB/ ton, and the current gasoline market demand will be greatly reduced due to the impact of the epidemic of COVID-19.

MTBE Market: affected by COVID-19, the restrictions on personnel travel and logistics are still strict. At the same time, the consumption demand of gasoline terminal falls precipitously, the inventory pressure of the refinery is still high, the refinery reduces the production load, the rigid demand for gasoline raw materials is also declining, the MTBE manufacturer is hard to deliver goods, and the market price keeps declining.

3  Market Forecast

MTBE product analyst of energy branch of SunSirs believes: the price of international crude oil market has fallen to a low level, and the price of refined oil market has fallen to a low level. With the resumption of work and the alleviation of the epidemic of COVID-19, the demand of gasoline market will gradually increase. However, at present, the gasoline inventory of the refinery is high, and the operating load of the refinery is low, so the demand for MTBE is still relatively low, and the market price performance of MTBE is expected to remain low this week.
