Analysis review
Bromine prices had risen this week, with mainstream quotes in the Shandong market of around 24,000-25,500 RMB/ton, indicating a slight upward trend in market prices. The supply side had been relatively stable recently. Bromine companies were reluctant to sell and were cautious in shipping. The downstream flame retardants and intermediate industries were still mainly purchasing on demand recently, and the price of tetrabromobisphenol A increased, providing support for the price of bromine.
In terms of raw materials, domestic sulfur prices had risen, with an average market price of 926.67 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week. On October 26th, the average market price was 930 RMB/ton, with a price increase of 0.36% and a year-on-year decrease of 31.11%. The price of raw material sulfur had slightly increased this week.
Market outlook
The price of bromine had slightly increased recently, with upstream sulfur prices showing signs of improvement. The supply of bromine production was stable recently, and the demand of downstream flame retardants and intermediates in the bromine industry was slightly better. However, the overall wait-and-see sentiment was still dominant. It is expected that bromine prices will consolidate in the short term, depending on downstream market demand.
