On October 27th, the average factory price of ammonium sulfate in China was 1,070 RMB/ton. This month, the price of ammonium sulfate was decreased by 5.59%.

Analysis review

The market price of ammonium sulfate had dropped this month. In the first half of October, the domestic ammonium sulfate market price slightly decreased. Urea prices weakened and fell, negatively impacting the ammonium sulfate market. Downstream and dealers were mainly wait-and-see, and their enthusiasm for purchasing goods had weakened. Downstream compound fertilizer enterprises reduced operating rates and reduced demand for ammonium sulfate procurement. In the second half of October, the price of ammonium sulfate significantly decreased. The market trading atmosphere was poor, with fewer inquiries and lower purchasing enthusiasm from downstream and distributors. As of October 27th, the mainstream factory quotation for coking grade ammonium sulfate in Hebei region was around 1,030 RMB/ton. The mainstream factory quotation for CPL garde ammonium sulfate in Shandong was around 1,050-1,100 RMB/ton.

According to the K-bar chart for the week from July 31, 2023 to October 16, 2023, it can be seen that the domestic ammonium sulfate cycle had seen mixed ups and downs. There was a significant decline in October, with the largest decline being 0.59% in the week ending October 16th.

Market outlook

Ammonium sulfate analysts from SunSirs believe that the recent poor market situation in sulfuric acid had weakened downstream delivery capacity, and enterprise quotations had been continuously declining. As of October 27th, the market was difficult to find good news, and it is expected that the price of ammonium sulfate will continue to be weaker and downward in the short term.
