According to foreign news on January 3rd, data released by the American Petroleum Institute (API) on Wednesday showed that crude oil inventories in the United States decreased last week, while finished oil inventories increased.
As of the week ending December 29th, crude oil inventories decreased by 7.4 million barrels. Gasoline inventories increased by approximately 6.9 million barrels, while distillate inventories increased by approximately 6.7 million barrels.
Analysts previously expected that US crude oil inventories would decline by approximately 3.7 million barrels, gasoline inventories would decline by approximately 200,000 barrels, and distillate inventories, including diesel and heating oil, would increase by approximately 600,000 barrels.
