SunSirs: Boosted Stocking, China Egg Prices slightly Increased
January 19 2024 09:46:28SunSirs(Selena)

According to the monitoring of the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of eggs at the beginning of this week was 8.70 RMB/kg, and the price of eggs at the end of this week was 9.02 RMB/kg, with a price increase of 3.68%.

Driven by the Spring Festival, the demand for eggs before the holiday may increase, which will drive the egg market. There is an expectation of an increase in egg prices, but as the inventory of laying hens increases, the supply of eggs is sufficient. In addition, the previously reserved inventory sources are concentrated before the Spring Festival, and the supply side may suppress the upward trend of egg prices. Affected by the increase in demand during the Spring Festival, the price of eggs in the production areas before the Spring Festival may tentatively rise, especially in areas mainly for domestic sales, but the supply of eggs is sufficient, The upward space for egg prices may be limited.

The new laying hens launched from January to February 2024 were mainly from September to October 2023 when they were replenished. At that time, the profitability of breeding was still good, and the enthusiasm of breeding units to replenish was increased. The sales of chicken seedlings from sample enterprises increased, with a month on month increase of 2.44% and 1.84%, respectively. Therefore, the number of new laying hens launched from January to February increased.

The market has entered the pre holiday restocking stage, with prices rising. It is expected that egg prices will mainly fluctuate and show a strong trend next week.
