Recently (1.25-1.31), the market for dichloromethane had slightly declined. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of January 31, the average price of bulk dichloromethane in Shandong Province was 2,277 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.30% from 2,307 RMB/ton on the 25th. The price of raw material methanol had fluctuated lower, the price range of liquid chlorine had been consolidated, and the cost support for dichloromethane was weak; The cautious demand for downstream goods before the holiday was gradually weakening, and the inventory of enterprises had slightly increased, but the overall pressure was still acceptable. The dichloromethane market was relatively weaker and consolidating, with the mainstream factory price of bulk dichloromethane in Shandong region around 2,230-2,350 RMB/ton as of January 31.

Analysis review

Recently (1.25-1.31), the domestic supply of methane chlorides had slightly increased, and Guangxi Jinyi's 300,000 ton/year plant was shut down for maintenance starting from the 8th; Ningbo Juhua's 400,000 ton/year plant had been upgraded to 70% load operation.

Recently (1.25-1.31), the price of raw material methanol had slightly decreased, and the price of liquid chlorine had stabilized at a low level. The cost support for dichloromethane was weaker. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of January 31st, the spot price of methanol was 2,580 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.34% from 2,615 RMB/ton on the 25th. As of January 31st, the acceptance price of liquid chlorine in tank trucks in Shandong region was around 250 RMB/ton, which was lower than the previous price.

As the Spring Festival approaching, downstream construction was stable, and demand gradually decreased after stocking, weakening support for dichloromethane.

Market outlook

The methane chloride data analyst from SunSirs believes that the demand for dichloromethane was weaker in the short term, with little pressure on the supply side, and the cost side was fluctuating and consolidating. Overall, it is expected that the dichloromethane market range will be mainly consolidated before the holiday.
