According to foreign sources on February 22nd, a report released by the US Energy Information Agency (EIA) on Thursday showed that US crude oil inventories increased last week, while gasoline and distillate inventories decreased.
As of the week ending February 16th, US crude oil inventories increased by 3.5 million barrels to 442.9 million barrels, with analysts expecting an increase of approximately 3.9 million barrels.
The crude oil inventory in Cushing, Oklahoma, the delivery location for US crude oil, increased by 741,000 barrels to 29.5 million barrels.
The data also shows that gasoline inventories decreased by 294,000 barrels to 247.04 million barrels in the week, with market expectations for a decrease of 2.1 million barrels.
Distillate oil inventories, including diesel and heating oil, decreased by 4 million barrels to 121.7 million barrels, following market expectations of a decrease of 1.7 million barrels.
On the week of February 16th, the refinery's crude oil processing increased by 31,000 barrels per day. The utilization rate of refinery capacity remained unchanged at 80.6%.
The net import of crude oil from the United States decreased by 434000 barrels per day that week.
