Price trend
According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of bromine haD been weak this week. The average market price at the beginning of the week was 21,600 RMB/ton, while the average market price on the weekend was 20,960 RMB/ton, a decrease of 2.96% and a year-on-year decrease of 20.61%.
On March 14th, the bromine commodity index was 75.09 points, unchanged from the previous day, a decrease of 69.37% from the highest point in the cycle of 245.18 points (2021-10-27), and an increase of 27.44% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29th, 2014. This week, the price of bromine was in a weak trend, with the mainstream price in the Shandong market being around 20,500-21,500 RMB/ton, and the market price was consolidating horizontally. Each bromine manufacturer was resuming production, and the market situation was average. The actual transactions of enterprises were average. The downstream flame retardant and intermediate industries were still mainly purchasing on demand recently, and the transaction situation was average, with a strong wait-and-see attitude.
In terms of raw materials, domestic sulfur prices had been consolidating this week, with an average market price of 1,026.67 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 1,036.67 RMB/ton over the weekend, with a price increase of 0.97% and a year-on-year decrease of 14.56%. This week, the overall price of raw sulfur had stabilized.
Market outlook
Bromine prices had been weak recently, while upstream sulfur prices had been consolidating. Bromine shipments had been average recently, while downstream flame retardants and intermediates in the bromine industry were still mainly purchased on demand, with moderate replenishment. There was no positive support. It is expected that bromine prices will be weak in the short term, depending on downstream market demand.
