Price trend

According to the monitoring system of the SunSirs, the price of flake caustic soda first rose and then fell in March, with an overall upward trend. At the beginning of the month, the average market price was around 3,383.33 RMB/ton, and at the end of the month, the average market price was 3,473.33 RMB/ton, with a price increase of 2.66% and a decrease of 3.07% compared to the same period last year. The market transaction price in South China was 3,400-3,500 RMB/ton, and the enthusiasm of enterprises to enter the market had been average recently.

Upstream caustic soda

According to monitoring data from SunSirs, the overall price of caustic soda increased in March. At the beginning of the month, the average price in the Shandong market was 782 RMB/ton, and at the end of the month, the average price in the Shandong market was around 852 RMB/ton. The overall price increased by 8.95%, and the price decreased by 1.62% compared to the same period last year.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ analysts believe that the price of liquid caustic soda had increased this month, while the price of flake caustic soda has risen. Within the month, the Northwest region raised prices, and as prices rose, downstream sentiment was mainly wait-and-see. The enthusiasm for entering the market for flake caustic soda weakened. Overall, the price of flake caustic soda may fluctuate to be weaker, depending on downstream market demand.
