SunSirs: The Price of Flake Caustic Soda Overall Decreased in April

According to the monitoring system of the SunSirs, the overall price of caustic soda decreased in April. At the beginning of the month, the average market price was around 3,440 RMB/ton, and at the end of the month, the average market price was 3,383.33 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.65%, a decrease of 3.33% compared to the same period last year. The market transaction price in South China was 3,350-3,450 RMB/ton, and the enthusiasm of enterprises to enter the market had been average recently.

Upstream caustic soda

According to monitoring data from SunSirs, the overall price of caustic soda decreased in April. At the beginning of the month, the average price in the Shandong market was 852 RMB/ton, and at the end of the month, the average price in the Shandong market was around 790 RMB/ton. The overall price dropped by 7.28%, a decrease of 12.61% compared to the same period last year. The price of caustic soda in Jiangsu region was temporarily stable, with a mainstream market quotation of around 810-880 RMB/ton for 32% ion exchange membrane caustic soda. The price of caustic soda in Shandong region was temporarily stable, with a mainstream market quotation of around 690-770 RMB/ton for 32% ion exchange membrane caustic soda.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ analysts believe that the price of liquid caustic soda had been weak this month, while the price of flake caustic soda has declined. The trading atmosphere in the flake caustic soda market was mostly maintained at the previous level, with a general trading atmosphere. Based on the actual transaction situation of manufacturers, the overall price of caustic soda may be weaker, depending on downstream market demand.
