SunSirs: China DME Market Maintains Stable This Week (May 6-10)
May 11 2024 10:51:26SunSirs(Selena)

This week (5.6-5.10), the domestic DME market was operating steadily. According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the average price of DME in the Henan market was 3,965 RMB/ton on May 6th, and 3,965 RMB/ton on May 10th. There was no increase or decrease during the cycle, and it decreased by 4.69% compared to the same period last year.

This week, some regions in China continued to see an increase in DME, while Henan DME remained stable for the time being. Recently, due to the continuous increase in raw material methanol costs, DME enterprises have followed suit, but the increase is not as significant as the increase in raw material costs, resulting in a tightening of profits for DME enterprises. This week, methanol fluctuated and rose due to the lack of downstream demand and increased resistance. In some regions, the price of DME remained stable, and the cost pressure on enterprises increased. Due to demand constraints, the rise was weak.

According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of methanol fluctuated and increased this week, with a price of 2,635 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week rising to 2,660 RMB/ton at the end of the week, and an increase of 0.96% within the week.

Overall, as costs rise, DME is passively rising. Based on the long-term weak downstream demand, it is expected that the DME market will maintain stable operation in the short term.
