SunSirs: Egg Prices Rise in China
May 21 2024 14:06:28SunSirs(Selena)

According to the monitoring of the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of eggs was 7.21 RMB/kg at the beginning of last week, and 7.51 RMB/kg at the end of last week, with a price increase of 4.16%.

On the demand side, egg consumption has rebounded. With the rise of vegetable prices in the south, catering and food manufacturing enterprises have shown a high enthusiasm for purchasing and restocking. In addition, with moderate inventory levels, the market is showing a trend of panic buying, supporting further increases in egg prices. But as the rainy season approaches, egg storage faces more severe challenges. High temperature and humidity environments are prone to quality problems, which may increase the market's shipping enthusiasm, and there may be uncertainty in spot prices.

According to the situation of replenishing chicken seedlings, the amount of replenished poultry from January to April has maintained an increasing trend. In the later period, there will be a large number of newly produced laying hens, and recent spot and futures prices have rebounded. The actual breeding profits and profit expectations have improved. Considering that the current age structure of chickens is relatively young, it is expected that the amount of poached chickens in the later period will decrease. By the third quarter, the domestic inventory of laying hens will still maintain a high level, and the supply-demand pattern will remain surplus.

The consumption in the egg market has rebounded, and it is expected that egg prices will mainly fluctuate and tend to be strong in the short term.
