SunSirs: Insufficient Supply and Demand Support, Resulting in a Decline in the Price of ECH
May 28 2024 10:37:42SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of May 24th, the average price quoted by ECH enterprises was 8,050.00 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.31% compared to Monday's price.

Analysis review

This week, the market price of ECH was weak. Recently, the price of raw materials propylene had fluctuated and fallen, while the price of liquid chlorine raw materials had been weak and stable. The cost support still existed, limiting the market's decline. The fluctuation of supply side devices led to an overall increase in market supply. In the main downstream epoxy resin digestion inventory stage, small orders followed up at low prices on demand, enterprise shipments was poor, competition at low prices increased, and negotiations in the ECH market were loosened.

Raw material propylene:

According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the reference price for propylene on May 23 was 6,726.60 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.09% compared to May 1 (6,800.60 RMB/ton). Recently, the price of raw material propylene had adjusted narrowly, providing continued support for the ECH market.

Main downstream epoxy resins: Since May, there had been little fluctuation in the domestic epoxy resin market, and negotiations had been lukewarm, resulting in insufficient follow-up momentum for the ECH market.

Market outlook

SunSirs' ECH analyst believes that the supply and demand dragged on the weak operation of the ECH market, and there may be no significant positive factors supporting the short-term market. It is expected that the ECH market will continue to operate weakly in the short term, and more attention still needs to be paid to market news guidance.
