SunSirs: Cost Boost, China PE Film Market is Stable and Rising in May
May 31 2024 10:54:46SunSirs(Selena)

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of PE film in the May market remained stable with an increase. As of May 29th, the mainstream quoted price for 50cm PE winding film by domestic manufacturers and traders is around 10,666.67 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.63% compared to the beginning of the month. The highest point of the price appeared in the later part of the month at 10,666.67 RMB/ton, and the lowest point appeared in the early part, with a price of about 10,600 RMB/ton.

In terms of raw materials, the price of raw material PE has continued to rise this month. On May 28th, the domestic price of domestic producer and trader LLDPE (7042) was 9,875.00 RMB/ton, an increase of 3.46% compared to the initial quotation of 9,545.00 RMB/ton. The price of raw material PE has risen rapidly this month, operating at a high level, with strong cost support, which has boosted the price of PE film.

In terms of supply: the supply of membrane enterprises is sufficient, and the pressure on the supply side still exists.

In terms of demand: With the May Day holiday coming, the film industry is entering a off-season, and downstream enterprises are mainly restocking in demand. Trading enthusiasm is not high, and the atmosphere has not significantly improved. Order transactions are limited, and downstream demand support is weak, which has a certain drag on the price increase.

The post holiday film industry has entered the off-season, with limited inventory released from market demand and excessive consumption of pre holiday accumulated inventory. Although there is significant support on the cost side, downstream demand is generally weak, and it is expected that the price of PE film may slightly increase in the near future with the increase of raw materials.
