SunSirs: The NMP Market Continued to Decline in May
June 03 2024 15:15:09SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the focus of the domestic NMP market continued to shift downwards in May, indicating an overall weakness. At the beginning of May, the average price of electronic grade NMP was 11,766 RMB/ton. On May 30th, the average price was 11,366 RMB/ton, a decrease of 3.4%.

Analysis review

In May, the domestic NMP market continued to decline. As of the 30th, the mainstream retail price for electronic grade NMP in China was 11,000-11,500 RMB/ton. The NMP market continued to decline in May, with no significant improvement in demand. The raw material BDO market was stagnant and running smoothly, with supply tightening, suppliers guarding prices, and the demand side remaining weak. The market fell narrowly in May. The supply in the NMP market was relatively stable, and demand was mainly rigid, with small businesses dominating the market and poor sales. Downstream price pressures had led to a decline in NMP prices.

The domestic BDO market remained weak and stagnant in May. From May 1st to 30th, the average domestic BDO price dropped from 9,071 RMB/ton to 9,029 RMB/ton, with a price drop of 0.47% during the cycle.

Market outlook

According to NMP analysts from SunSirs, the downstream follow-up was slow, and the market mentality was poor. Considering that the industry's profits were temporarily in a deficit state, it is expected that NMP prices will maintain a low consolidation operation in the short term.
