According to EU data, the import volume of palm oil in the EU decreased by nearly 20% year-on-year in 2023/2024, mainly due to a decline in imports from Indonesia.
According to data from the European Commission, as of June 30, 2023/2024 (July to June), the EU imported 1.15 million tons of palm oil from Indonesia, accounting for 34.5% of the total EU imports, lower than the previous year's import volume of 1.79 million tons and share of 43.5%. However, Indonesia remains the top palm oil supplier to the European Union.
