On July 22, the market price of color coated sheet was 6,350 RMB/ton, and on July 26, the price was 6,300 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.78% compared to last week and a decrease of 9.35% compared to the same period last year.

Analysis review

Galvanized sheet: The price of galvanized sheet has slightly decreased this week. On Friday (July 26th), the price of galvanized sheet was 4,635 RMB/ton, a decrease of 3.13% compared to last week and 8.52% compared to the same period last year. The downstream demand in the coating market was lukewarm, and market transactions were relatively weak.

Market outlook

The color coated coil in the first half of 2024 is the weakest among cold series varieties. In the first half of 2024, the average price of color coated coils in China was 5,709 RMB/ton, a decrease of 401 RMB/ton compared to the same period in 2023, with a year-on-year decrease of 6.57%. In the second half of 2024, there may be a cyclical bottom rebound in the overall environment, and it is expected that the national average price may slightly decrease in 2024, but the overall space is not large, with an expected decline of 4% -5%. The price trend for the whole year may show a middle low and two high characteristics.

Considering the arrival of the off-season, although most factories' costs continued to rise, their shipping mentality continued, and their offers remained strong at high levels. This week, most of the domestic facilities started working normally, but production and sales had not yet been balanced, and inventory was accumulating. It is expected that the price of color coated sheets will remain stable in the short term.
