Price trend

On August 5th, the commodity price index of propylene and 2-EH was 91.28 points, an increase of 0.23 points from the previous day, a decrease of 54.17% from the highest point of the cycle at 199.16 points (2020-04-13), and an increase of 92.25% from the lowest point of 47.48 points on August 8th, 2021. (Note: The period refers to January 1, 2012 to present).

According to the Commodity Analysis System of SunSirs, the average market price of 2-EH in Shandong on August 6th was 8,950 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.37% from the previous trading day.

Analysis review

The upstream propylene market fluctuated and consolidated, the cost support of 2-EH weakened, the downstream plasticizer market stabilized, and the downstream purchasing enthusiasm was average. The upward support for 2-EH had weakened, but downward pressure still existed.
