Price trend

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the average price of paraformaldehyde (96) in Shandong this weekend was 4,466 RMB/ton, and the average price at the beginning of the week was 4,600 RMB/ton, and the price fell 2.9%.

Analysis review   

Product: Shandong Aldehyde Chemical Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 30,000 tons of paraformaldehyde, the ex-factory price of paraformaldehyde (96) was 4,300 RMB/ton, which was 300 RMB/ton lower than last week. Linyi Shengyang Chemical Co., Ltd. has an annual output of 9,000 tons of paraformaldehyde. The price of paraformaldehyde (96) at the factory was 4,400 RMB/ton with tax, which was a decrease of 100 RMB/ton from last week. Zibo Qixing Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. has an annual output of 10,000 tons of paraformaldehyde. The ex-factory price of paraformaldehyde (96) was 4,700 RMB/ton, which is unchanged from last week. The prices of paraformaldehyde manufacturers were weak and the market demand was average.

Industry: In the upstream methanol situation, according to the monitoring of SunSirs, the domestic methanol market continued to decline. The average domestic methanol market price was 1,968 RMB/ton on March 9. As of March 18, the average domestic methanol market price was 1,797 RMB/ton, a drop of 8.41%.

Market outlook

The paraformaldehyde analyst of SunSirs believes that due to the decline in crude oil and methanol, paraformaldehyde prices are mainly weak.
