According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of bromine has remained stable this week. The average market price from the beginning of the week to the end of the week was 20,700 RMB/ton, a decrease of 15.85% compared to the same period last year.

On August 15th, the bromine commodity index was 72.63 points, unchanged from the previous day, a decrease of 70.38% from the highest point of 245.18 points (2021-10-27) during the cycle, and an increase of 23.27% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29, 2014. (Note: The cycle refers to the period from September 1, 2011 to present)

Analysis review

This week, the price of bromine has remained stable, with prices in the Shandong region stabilizing. The mainstream market price was around 20,000-21,000 RMB/ton, and the overall inventory in the region was stable. Domestic bromine production was also stable. The production and demand for downstream flame retardants of bromine were generally average, and the demand for agriculture and intermediates was also average. In terms of raw materials, domestic sulfur prices have been consolidating, with an average market price of 1,310 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 1,345 RMB/ton over the weekend. The price has increased by 2.67%, which was 31.01% higher than the same period last year. Downstream procurement was mainly based on demand.

Market outlook

The price of bromine had been running weakly recently, with upstream sulfur prices consolidating. Downstream flame retardant production of bromine was average, and agricultural and intermediate demand was average. Demand was mainly based on on-demand procurement. Supply and demand gamed. Overall, it is expected that bromine may continue to consolidate and operate in the later stage, depending on downstream market demand.
