On August 20th, the commodity price index of propylene and 2-EH was 94.02 points, an increase of 0.35 points from the previous day, a decrease of 52.79% from the highest point of 199.16 points during the cycle (2020-04-13), and an increase of 98.02% from the lowest point of 47.48 points on August 8th, 2021. (Note: The period refers to January 1, 2012 to present).

According to the Commodity Analysis System of SunSirs, the average market price of 2-EH in Shandong on August 21 was 8,266.67 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.80% from the previous trading day.

Analysis review

The upstream propylene market was consolidating, the cost support of 2-EH was weakening, the downstream plasticizer market was weakly consolidating, and the downstream purchasing enthusiasm was average. The upward support for 2-EH had weakened, but downward pressure still existed.
