On August 27th, the National Grain and Oil Information Center reported that the Indonesian Palm Oil Producers Association (GAPKI) stated that the implementation of B50 in Indonesia will consume approximately 18 million tons of crude palm oil annually, which is 11 million tons higher than the palm oil consumption of B35 implemented this year.
According to GAPKI data, since 2019, the average annual growth rate of palm oil consumption in Indonesia has been 7.6%, while the annual growth rate of palm oil production in Indonesia during the same period is less than 1%. Due to aging oil palm trees and more frequent extreme weather, Indonesian palm oil production is expected to stagnate. If the biodiesel blending ratio is further increased, it will lead to a decrease in Indonesian palm oil exports.
