September 02 2024 11:13:10SunSirs(Selena)

Since August, the market for SBR has fluctuated and risen. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of August 30th, the price of SBR in the East China market was 15,508 RMB/ton, an increase of 3.05% from 15,050 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month. The price of raw material butadiene first fell and then rose, while styrene fluctuated narrowly, and the cost support of SBR continued. Downstream tire production has recently risen, providing strong support for the demand for SBR; The production of SBR is at a low level, and the inventory pressure of enterprises is not significant. At the end of the month, the supply price of SBR gradually increased, and as of the 30th, the ex factory price of PetroChina Northeast Jihua 1502 was reported at 15,400 RMB/ton.

Since August, the raw material butadiene has first fallen and then risen, while the price of styrene has fluctuated slightly, and the cost support of SBR continues. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of August 30th, the price of butadiene was 12,925 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.07% from 12,662 RMB/ton at the beginning of August, and the lowest point during the cycle was 12,400 RMB/ton; As of August 30th, the price of styrene was 9,416 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.13% from 9,404 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.

Supply and demand side: Since mid August, downstream tire production has been on the rise, and in the short term, demand will have some support for the SBR market. As of August 23rd, the operating load of semi steel tires in domestic tire enterprises is around 79%; The operating load of all steel tires in tire enterprises in Shandong region is about 58%.

From a fundamental perspective, analysts from SunSirs believe that the cost of SBR will continue to be supported; The production of SBR is at a low level, and the pressure on the supply side of SBR is not significant; The current downstream tire production has slightly rebounded, providing some support for the demand for SBR. Overall, the SBR market is expected to remain strong at a high level in the short term.
