SunSirs: Isopropanol Rose 13.71% in a Day
March 27 2020 13:08:21SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to SunSirs data monitoring, isopropanol prices rose sharply. On March 25, the average price of isopropanol in China was 8,266.67 RMB/ton, and on March 26, the average price was 9,400 RMB/ton, with a sharp increase of 13.71%.

Analysis review

Product: Starting on March 13, isopropanol started a rising trend, and prices soared sharply. On March 26, the domestic isopropanol market price increase was the highest in history, and individual manufacturers rose as much as 1,100 RMB/ton from the previous day. At present, the isopropanol in the United States and Europe continued to rise sharply, and the export volume of isopropanol continued to increase. From March 20, 2020, the export tax rebate for isopropanol has increased from the original 10% to 13%, which increased the external competitive advantage of isopropanol. As of now, the isopropanol negotiation range in Shandong is around 9,000-9,300 RMB/ton, and the isopropanol negotiation range in Jiangsu is 8,800-9,500 RMB/ton. According to the current international situation, the European market has a high demand for disinfectant and other resources, and traders and buyers have turned to Asia to purchase isopropanol. This tight supply situation has indirectly pushed up the price of the domestic isopropanol market.

Industry: The upstream acetone market is mainly stable. Currently, the price in East China is 4,450-4,500 RMB/ton; the price in Shandong is 4,700 RMB/ton; the area around Yanshan is temporarily operating at 4,650 RMB/ton; South China offers 4,750 RMB/ton. The price of the propylene market in Shandong area rose slightly across the board. At present, the market is trading at 5,750-6,000 RMB/ton, and the mainstream price is around 5,800 RMB/ton.

Market outlook

Isopropanol analysts of Sunsirs believe that the surge in isopropanol has benefited from the large demand in the export market, especially under the state of rising demand for disinfectants in Europe and the United States. It will not decrease, which is good for the domestic market. More attention paid to the change of message surface in the future.
