SunSirs: The Market Price of ECH Was Stable with Stronger Trend
September 12 2024 15:22:32SunSirs(John)

Price trend

The market price of ECH continues to rise this week. As of September 10th, there was a shortage of spot goods in the market, and supply remained tight. After the price increase, low-priced spot goods were difficult to find, and there had been a decrease in trading orders in the market, with a focus on purchasing small orders for essential needs. According to the monitoring system of SunSirs, as of September 11th, the benchmark price of SunSirs' ECH was 8,275 RMB/ton, an increase of 3.60% compared to the beginning of this month (7,987.50 RMB/ton).

Price influencing factors:

Raw material side: The price of raw material propylene had fluctuated and increased, while the price of liquid chlorine had fallen. The raw material side continued to decline, which provided sufficient support for the ECH market and had little overall impact. According to the market analysis system of SunSirs, as of September 11th, the benchmark price of propylene in SunSirs was 6,845.75 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.76% compared to the beginning of this month (6,968.25 RMB/ton).

Equipment situation: Hubei Minteng, Hebei Jinbang, Zhejiang Zhenyang and other equipment were parked; Fengyi Oil's 100,000 tons/year glycerol plant was shut down on September 4th, and the restart time will be notified separately; In addition, there was also a portion of long-term parking. According to the report, the overall operating rate of the ECH industry within the week was 50-60%.

Downstream demand side: Following up on small orders for epoxy resin demand downstream, as costs rise and manufacturers face increased cost pressures, there was insufficient follow-up on new orders, and the market remained stable with little movement.

Market outlook

The analyst of SunSirs’ ECH believes that short-term costs and supply side support were still acceptable, with downstream demand buying as the main focus, insufficient follow-up of new orders, and cautious procurement of raw materials. It is expected that in the short term, the ECH market price will remain stable and slightly stronger, and more attention still needs to be paid to changes in raw material prices.
