October 08 2024 14:43:59SunSirs(Selena)

Since September, the market for SBR has seen a significant increase. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of September 30th, the price of SBR in the East China market was 16,616 RMB/ton, an increase of 7.15% from 15,508 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month. The price of raw material butadiene continues to rise, while the price of styrene decreases, and the cost of SBR still remains supported. The downstream tire production is basically stable, providing strong support for the demand for SBR; The production of SBR is at a low level, and the inventory pressure of enterprises is not significant. The supply price of SBR has been gradually increased within the month, and as of the 30th, the mainstream market price of SBR in East China is 16,600-16,800 RMB/ton.

Since September, the raw material butadiene has significantly increased while the price of styrene has fallen, and the cost support for SBR still exists. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of September 30th, the price of butadiene was 13,700 RMB/ton, an increase of 6.00% from 12,925 RMB/ton at the beginning of September; As of September 30th, the price of styrene was 8,926 RMB/ton, a decrease of 5.20% from 9,416 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.

In September, the domestic SBR plant continued to operate at a low level, and as of the end of September, the domestic SBR plant had started operating at around 5.6%.

Supply and demand side: Since September, downstream tire production has remained stable with slight fluctuations, and demand is supported by the rigid demand of the SBR market. As of September 27th, the operating load of semi steel tires in domestic tire enterprises is around 79%; The operating load of all steel tires in tire enterprises in Shandong region is about 56%.

From a fundamental perspective, analysts from SunSirs believe that the current cost of SBR still has support; The production of SBR remains low, and the pressure on the supply side of SBR is not significant; The current downstream tire production is stable with slight fluctuations, and overall, the SBR market is mainly consolidating at a high level in the short term.
