According to data from SunSirs, the price of seamless tubes had slightly decreased this week. As of the weekend, the price of 20 #, 108 * 4.5 seamless tubes was quoted at 4,507.5 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.91% from the beginning of the week and a year-on-year decrease of 6.8%.

Analysis review

The price of upstream tube billets had dropped significantly, and the market price of 20 # hot-rolled tube billets was now quoted at 3,390-3,690 RMB/ton. The black futures market had been continuously declining, and the prices of raw material tube blanks had also fallen accordingly.

The price of raw material billets had slightly decreased, further weakening market confidence. Due to the high raw material prices in the early stage, many tube factories had no intention of lowering prices. Some factories may adjust their preferential policies, and market traders also maintain a cautious and wait-and-see attitude or slightly lower prices to accelerate shipments. As the weather turns colder in many places, terminal demand will gradually decrease, and manufacturers are mainly focused on transactional shipments in the near future.
