Analysis review
Dichloromethane continued to rise, with reduced production load on the supply side and increased raw material prices on the cost side, resulting in firm quotes from manufacturers. As of November 18th, the market trading sentiment was weak, and traders were under great pressure to ship. The market had a strong wait-and-see attitude, and there were signs of a decline in ex factory prices on November 18th. As of November 18th, the ex factory price of mainstream dichloromethane in Shandong region was around 3,130-3,170 RMB/ton.
On the supply side: Within the week, the main manufacturers had reduced their operations to 20% and now maintain 50%. Supply was tight and manufacturers had no inventory pressure. The manufacturer had resumed production due to scheduled maintenance on the 17th, and the rise in dichloromethane had been hindered.
In terms of raw materials: The rise in raw materials was favorable for dichloromethane, while the methanol market was slightly sluggish. Supply pressure was still present, and the upward drive was weak. As of November 18th, the spot price of methanol in SunSirs was 2,510 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.18% from the beginning of the month. The liquid chlorine market in Shandong continued to rise, but with a narrow increase in operating rates, supply will increase.
In terms of demand: Dichloromethane was widely used, and it was often purchased as needed and restocked at low prices. The refrigerant market continued to have good production and sales, and refrigerant prices were running steadily. R32 maintained a tight supply situation, with factories showing reluctance to sell and controlling orders, resulting in continued high refrigerant prices in the future.
Market outlook
SunSirs’ analysts believe that the maintenance of enterprise equipment fluctuated narrowly, the driving force of raw material prices was weak, and the demand side purchased mainly based on demand. It is expected that the dichloromethane market will consolidate in the short term.
