The price of 2-EH had fluctuated and fallen, the cost of plasticizers had decreased, the profit of plasticizer DOP was high, the enthusiasm of plasticizer enterprises to start production had increased, the operating rate of plasticizers was high, and the supply of plasticizers was sufficient. The downstream PVC off-season was approaching, the demand for plasticizers was falling, the risk of excessive inventory of plasticizer DOP was intensifying, and the price of plasticizer DOP was fluctuating and falling.

Downstream demand was lukewarm

Downstream PVC product enterprises had low production rates, and the downstream market was traditionally off-season, resulting in a decrease in downstream PVC production. The weather in the north was gradually turning cold, and demand was weak; The downstream market was declining, and the downward pressure on plasticizers was increasing.

The cost of raw materials fluctuated and fell

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of December 23, the price of 2-EH was 7,833.33 RMB/ton, a fluctuating decrease of 4.47% compared to the price of 8,200 RMB/ton on December 16. In December, the production of 2-EH enterprises remained stable at a high level, and coupled with the continuous production of 2-EH capacity, the supply of 2-EH increased significantly in December. The downstream demand increment was not as significant as the increment of 2-EH, and there was an oversupply of 2-EH, which increased the downward pressure on 2-EH and caused its price to fluctuate and fall.

Market outlook

According to the data analyst of SunSirs' plasticizer products, in terms of cost, the price of 2-EH fluctuated and fell this week, the price of PA fluctuated and fell, and the cost of plasticizer DOP decreased; In terms of demand, the off-season was approaching, and downstream production and inventory are expected to decrease, leading to a decline in demand for plasticizers; On the supply side, plasticizer companies had high profits, and their enthusiasm for starting work had increased.
