The price tended to stabilize compared to last week, but decreased by 0.95% compared to the same period last year.

Analysis review

Galvanized sheet: The price of galvanized sheet had slightly increased this week. On Friday (January 3), the price of galvanized sheet was 4,392 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.045% from last week and 16.05% from the same period last year. The downstream demand in the coating market WAs lukewarm, and market transactions were relatively weak.

Market outlook

This week, the five major steel varieties supplied 8.2964 million tons, a decrease of 138,700 tons on a week on week basis, a decrease of 1.6%, further expanding compared to last week's decrease of 0.8%; The total inventory was 11.1574 million tons, with a weekly increase of 63,700 tons or 0.6%; The weekly apparent consumption was 8.2327 million tons, a decrease of 3.4% compared to the previous period, including a 7.5% decrease in building materials consumption and a 1.2% decrease in board consumption.

Considering the arrival of the off-season, although most factories' costs continued to rise, their shipping mentality continued, and their offers remained strong at high levels. This week, most of the domestic facilities started working normally, but production and sales had not yet been balanced, and inventory was accumulating. It is expected that the price of color coated sheets will remain stable in the short term.
